Canadian rapper Drake has entered the sports betting space once again, wagering more than Rs 6 crore on Royal Challengers Bengaluru winning against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2025 final today in Ahmedabad.
Drake entered the IPL betting arena in 2024.
The Grammy-winning artist took to Instagram, sharing a screenshot of his bet of $750,000 on RCB‘s win through Stake, a popular gambling company. The screenshot shows the receipt of his bet with the odds being 1.75, securing Drake more than $1.3 billion if RCB finally win their maiden title. His post was captioned, “Ee sala cup namde,” (Kannada for ‘this year the cup is ours’).

In IPL 2014, Drake had placed his bid on Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders in the title clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Though the artist won the bet, RCB fans are worried about the infamous “Drake Curse” (he has lost several bets in sports). His betting timeline has been thoroughly documented on social media with even webpages devoted to analysing Drake’s betting wins and losses – TheDrakeCurse.com.
His post saw response from the Punjab Kings fans, who ‘thanked’ him for supporting the RCB, in an apparent dig at the ‘Drake Curse’.
“Thank you for supporting RCB, Drake bhai! Now, all the PBKS fans like me can sleep peacefully,” wrote one netizen on X.
Both the RCB and the PBKS have not won the IPL title yet.
